Cartography Biosciences is a therapeutics organization creating the first atlas to identify targets that are specific enough to only engage cancerous cells, broad enough to work across cancer cells and patients, and safe enough to sidestep toxic side effects. Founded by Kevin Parker, Howard Chang, and Ansu Satpathy, Cartography is bridging immunology and computation to understand the critical differences between normal and cancerous cells, ultimately solving the challenge of finding the safest, most selective targets for a variety of immunotherapeutic approaches.
We are looking for a senior scientist / principal scientist to play a major role in the validation of new drug indications in cancer. You will be a key decision maker at the interface of target discovery and therapeutic development, and will be relied upon for company-wide strategy. You will join a dynamic, highly-innovative team working to build the next generation of cancer therapies using modern approaches in the precision medicine toolkit.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop IHC protocols for novel targets discovered by our ATLAS and SUMMIT platforms.
  • Work with our computational, cell models, and antibody teams to screen binders for histology in relevant cell lines and patient samples.
  • Generate histology data packages in patient tumor and normal organ tissues for our novel targets and binders.
  • Opportunities for new technology development with a strong team of scientists.

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Strong experience in IHC methods development for new targets and binders.
  • Experience in IHC/IF multiplexed staining and/or next-generation imaging methods development.
  • Experience leading a team of researchers and working in a cross-discipline collaborative environment.
  • Familiarity with histopathology analysis and scoring of patient tissues.
