Position Overview:
We're looking for a Student Success Coach who is passionate about higher education, student engagement, and student retention.
At Campus, Student Success Coaches work directly with a cohort of up to 75 students from the moment they become registered as Campus Scholars to graduation. The Coach serves as the student's primary point of contact for academic planning, one-on-one support, resources, college transfer and career guidance. Coaches are also very involved in our programming events like orientation, graduation, and academic programs.
In this role, you will partner closely with Admissions and other internal teams to ensure a coordinated and student-centered experience through establishing processes, procedures, and frequent communication.
The ideal candidate will have experience in coaching or related careers in post-secondary education.
What you'll do:
- Act as the main point of contact for active students, meeting with students on a weekly basis
- Maintain an active student cohort of up to 75 students, from enrollment to graduation
- Focus on student engagement and retention by closely monitoring student progress
- Seek potential risk that may hinder individual academic or personal success, and making referrals to students perceived as at-risk
- Support a variety of remote students across multiple time-zones in the U.S
- Assist students on making informed choices about their educational plans
- Participate in events promoting Campus
- Maintain administrative documents and confidential student records
- Focus on student engagement and retention in a remote environment
- Perform other related duties as assigned
About you:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal, in individual and group settings, including ability to deal tactfully with and inspire students.
- Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required
- One to three years experience in academic advising, mentoring, or counseling or related careers in post-secondary education, or a combination of education and experience commensurate with the requirements of the position
- Experience delivering social- emotional support and guidance to students of varying backgrounds, abilities, outlooks, ages, and nationalities including first generation college students.
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic: takes initiative to identify gaps and propose projects and directions for work: A self-starter who is very curious about improving things and brings fresh ideas.
- Nimble and adaptable - excited about collaborating with a tightly knit team to problem solver
