ABOUT THE TEAM
The Bestow insurance team includes the actuarial, underwriting, and operations teams that work with virtually every other team at Bestow. We work closely with our Enterprise partners to help launch and scale new insurance products using Bestow’s technology. This requires working closely with the revenue, product, engineering, and legal teams. We also work closely with the consumer team to develop insurance products and grow sales at BLIC (Bestow Life Insurance Company).
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced Life Underwriting Operations Manager to join the team! You will serve as a subject matter expert for underwriting processes, addressing inquires from internal teams and external clients. You will also work closely with our revenue team to understand client needs and tailor underwriting operations accordingly.
This is a remote position reporting to our Director of Underwriting Strategy.

YOUR DAY TO DAY

  • Manage a small team
  • Evaluate existing underwriting processes and identify opportunities for improvement and automation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices.
  • Conduct regular reviews of underwriting processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance measures to minimize errors and improve overall underwriting outcomes.
  • Work closely with IT and data analytics teams to implement technology solutions that enhance underwriting capabilities.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and recommend their integration to improve operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with risk management to identify and mitigate potential risks associated with underwriting processes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years of experience in life underwriting
  • In-depth knowledge of life underwriting processes, policies, and regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to lead process improvement initiatives
