We are seeking an experienced Principal Process Engineer to lead the scaling and optimization of our ALITEC manufacturing processes. This role is critical to ensuring the efficiency, quality, and scalability of our production operations, directly contributing to the advancement of our defense technology solutions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead the development and optimization of coatings processes for moisture-sensitive powders, ensuring scalability for full-rate production.
  • Work closely with R&D and production teams to ensure seamless scaling of technologies from pilot to full production.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain and enforce strict quality control measures and safety protocols in an inert processing environment.
  • Troubleshoot and improve the integration of coating processes, including the adaptation of current processes to meet high production demands.
  • Drive process efficiency improvements to meet aggressive production goals and deadlines.
  • Identify and resolve complex manufacturing challenges, implementing effective solutions to enhance operational performance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in process engineering in a production environment.
  • Expertise in handling moisture-sensitive materials and solvent-based systems in controlled environments.
  • Strong knowledge of polymer-metal matrix systems, including high solids content formulations.
  • Familiarity with thin-film coating techniques and powder handling methods.
  • Hands-on experience with scaling production processes and transitioning from R&D to manufacturing.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex projects under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in glovebox or inert atmosphere operations.
  • Background in high-volume manufacturing environments with a focus on coatings or polymer extrusion.
  • Knowledge of advanced analytical techniques for assessing material properties and process outcomes.

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
