We are hiring for the Mechanical Engineering Department in Costa Mesa, CA
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Design & build prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful projects into production
- Present design reviews, run analysis, visit vendors, design & execute hardware test plans
- Use first principles physics as a basis for every decision
- Travel to test sites and vendors as needed
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or any related field
- Approaching Junior year or beyond at the time of the internship
- Must be returning to school at the end of their internship to continue their academic studies
- Collegiate project team or laboratory experience
- Currently enrolled in an undergrad or graduate engineering program
- CAD skills (any platform) and ability to make high quality engineering drawings that meet common industry standards
- Demonstrated hands-on fabrication skills
- High competence with, and fluid use of, engineering first principles
- U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data
- Ability to complete an in-person 12 week internship in Costa Mesa, CA
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior internship experience and/or leadership on a collegiate project team or laboratory
- Experience in NX/Teamcenter and/or Solidworks
- Experience with FEA and/or CFD analysis tools
- Ability to integrate electrical components into designs (motors, controllers, sensors etc.)
- Experience with machining, sheet metal, injection molding, and 3D printing
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
