Anduril Rocket Motor Systems (ARMS) is seeking a Director of Safety, Energetic Materials to lead operational safety for its rocket motor research, development, and manufacturing operations. ARMS designs, tests, and manufactures solid rocket motors for various launch systems, including missiles, and commercial space platforms. The company is focused on implementing innovations to increase performance and reduce the cost of solid rocket motors.
As the Director of Safety, Energetic Materials, you will be responsible for the safety of all personnel who work with energetic materials and for company compliance with applicable safety regulations. The right person for this role will have a proven track record of effective leadership, extensive experience with the manufacturing of energetic materials, and a depth of knowledge of compliance requirements related to DoD 4145.26 and other applicable regulations. WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Own energetics safety and compliance of the entire Rocket Motor System (RMS) production line with the annual capacity to produce thousands of units;
  • Oversee the implementation and documentation of safety plans and procedures specific to the production of RMS’s, ensuring the safety of the team;
  • Provide day-to-day oversight of project activities and ensure adherence to established safety protocols and related training; and
  • Manage all interactions with DCMA, ATF, and other regulatory bodies to ensure continued compliance with all applicable regulations

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 10 years of relevant, hand-on experience in the propellants and/or munitions field, which demonstrates a thorough knowledge of military, commercial, and other types of energetic materials or a Master’s Degree with at least 7 years of experience
  • Expertise in the establishment and management of safety programs supporting the manufacturing of propellants and other energetic materials and providing safety training and instruction
  • Proven track record of maintaining personnel safety and regulatory compliance related to the manufacturing of energetic materials
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills and evidence of building and managing effective teams
  • Must be able obtain a U.S Top Secret clearance
