The Role

We are currently seeking a Senior Revenue Manager to join our Revenue accounting team. This is a people manager role in a team that handles revenue accounting, and reporting. This role reports to the Controller and will have two direct reports.

Addepar takes a market-based approach to pay. A successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on the role, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base salary for roles in Colorado, California, and New York.

The current range for this role is $104,000 - $163,000 (base salary) + bonus + equity + benefits.

What You’ll Do

  • Revenue Management: Review, perform, and support revenue activities such as month-end close reporting and accounting processes in NetSuite.
  • Reporting Oversight: Oversee monthly revenue flux reporting and conduct ad-hoc analysis for review by the Controller and CFO.
  • Detailed Revenue Reports: Generate monthly ASC 606 revenue reports, ensuring recognized revenue, deferred revenue, and adjustments are accurate and compliant with accounting standards.
  • Transaction Processing: Ensure accurate and timely processing, accounting, and reporting in line with policies and US GAAP.
  • Technical Documentation: Prepare technical revenue memos and Standard Operating Procedure documentation on revenue.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work seamlessly with Sales, Account Management, Sales Operations, and Legal teams to manage the accounting of sales contracts.
  • Internal Controls: Maintain and monitor internal controls with a robust review process for client revenue recognition, unbilled, and deferred revenue.
  • Team Management: Manage a team of two revenue accountants, ensuring effective collaboration, development, and task delegation.
  • Process Optimization: Continually identify and implement efficient procedures and processes.
  • Audit Support: Provide audit support for revenue, unbilled revenue, deferred revenue, and reserves.
  • FP&A Partnership: Collaborate with the FP&A team to provide ad-hoc reports and revenue forecasting inputs.
  • CECL and Reserves Analysis: Create the client CECL and reserves analysis and entries.
  • Project Leadership: Take on new projects supporting a fast-growing company, including international structure, and automation of approval processes.

Who You Are

  • BA/BS in Business or Accounting
  • CPA and public accounting experience
  • Experience with NetSuite and its advanced revenue module (ARM), Excellent knowledge of Software Recurring Revenue recognition, including ASC 606
  • Experience working with SFDC
  • Experience with managing direct reports/staff
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership for projects and drive to completion
  • Demonstrated continuous improvements of the business processes and new business model support
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in revenue recognition; experience supporting sales operations & sales teams highly desired.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, supervisory and customer service skills required
  • Ability to multi-task in fast-paced setting, work under pressure and meet deadlines required
